Neglecting ones own health to take care of spouse and children is not a wise move on the part of mothers. So its time to eat healthy. There is an old saying that goes A healthy mother can look after her child better. It does not seem to hold true in India where the mothers are more concerned about her familys well being rather than taking care of her own self.
Iron deficiency or anaemia is very common in mothers, teenagers, pregnant and pre-menopausal women. The nutrition tip for women is to regularly include iron-rich foods such as meat, shellfish, beans and whole cereals in your diet. Another important supplement is calcium and vitamin D. Calcium not only builds but strengthens bones and teeth. On the other hand, vitamin D plays an integral role in calcium metabolism.
Eat Breakfast!
This healthy eating tip cannot be simpler. Not only does breakfast give you the fuel to start a new day; it also helps maintain your weight. When we skip a meal, our body thinks that we are in starvation mode and therefore slows down our metabolism as a means to compensate.
We then tend to overeat at the next meal. Try including at least three food groups in your breakfast so that you do not need to prowl for a mid-morning snack. Minimum 2.5 liters of water per day is recommended. It has been said that water in the early morning is nectar, immediately after the meal is poison and throughout the day it is like a tonic.
Dont eat too much protein.
Referring to women coming from affluent class, nutritionist offeres some helpful suggestions. Protein is an essential part of any healthy diet, but eating too much animal protein as in many low-carb, high-pr-protein diets are particularly dangerous for women. Eating lots of protein causes calcium loss.
Over time, this could lead to a decrease in bone density and osteoporosis. Your diet has a major effect on your food cravings, your stress levels, and energy throughout the day. By making smart food choices and developing healthy eating habits, youll find it much easier to stay slim, control cravings, and feel energetic all day long.
Dont go hungry
Do not keep your body hungry for a long time. As the most of the working moms and womens do not like to take much medication, doctors advise them to change their lifestyles avoid junk food and intoxicating food items. A huge gap between meal times can make you feel irritable and tired, so aim to eat something at least every 3-4 hours.
Nutritionists mainly ask them to take any vegetable or fruit which they can afford, preferably green leafy vegetables, chickpeas, nuts, jaggery, banana, papaya and guavas, curd milk that are good supplements for menopausal mothers.
fruits forever
They are loaded with vitamin C, folate, fiber and phytonutrients and many more micronutrients. Indeed, fruits are some of the most powerful disease-fighting foods available as they top the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score chart, which is a method of measuring antioxidant activity.
