Leftover Bread Upma

              leftover Bread Upma with potato and bread

Ingredients


6 to 8 slices of day-old bread
4 tbsp oil  
Pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds 
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium potato, boiled, peeled and cubed
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp lemon juice
2 green chillies, chopped
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

Break the bread into smaller pieces.
Heat the oil in a kadai; add a pinch of asafoetida, the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
When

the cumin seeds change colour and the mustard seeds begin to splutter,
add the onion and saute for a few minutes till translucent.
Add the potato and saute for 2 minutes.
Add
turmeric powder, salt and bread and mix well. Add the chilli powder and
toss to mix. Sprinkle some water over the mixture and cook for two
minutes.
Add the lemon juice, green chillies and coriander leaves. 
Toss well to mix and serve hot.
