Ready Mix dosa with Coconut Chutney

from: Shilpa

The idea is simple. Put in as many kinds of flour as easily available to make a batter. Shallow fry on a girdle to get hot and filing dosas.

Ingredients

For the chutney
  • 1 bowl of grated coconut
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 tbsp of gram dal, roasted
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
For the dosa
  • 1 measure wheat flour (optional)
  • 1 measure soy flour (optional)
  • 1 measure of plain flour
  • 1.5 measure semolina
  • 2 measures rice flour
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tomato (optional)
  • 2 chillies, chopped fine
  • A handful of coriander leaves, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch asafoetida

Preparation Method of Ready Mix dosa
  1. Mix all flours together in a bowl. Add water to make medium consistency batter.
  2. Add chopped onion, coriander leaves, tomato, chillies and cumin seeds and mix again.
  3. Add salt to taste.
  4. Heat a frying pan with a little oil. Once the pan is hot, drop the batter evenly.
  5. Wait till the bottom of the dosa is brown. Then flip over.
  6. When both sides are done, take it off the flame.
The chutney preparation method
  1. Grind coconut, green chillies and gram dal in a mixer, with little water.
  2. Take out into a dish. Add salt to taste.
  3. Heat oil and add mustard seeds. After the spluttering stops, pour this over the chutney.
  4. Serve with hot dosas.
