Indian raita recipes with yogurt and coconut

Ingredients
  • 1 beetroot, grated
  • 1 tbsp coconut, grated
  • 1 tbsp onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • Chilly powder to taste
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 cup yogurt or curd
Method of Preparing Indian raita recipes
  1. Heat oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds.
  2. After they splutter, fry the onions, curry leaves and the garlic till the mixture changes colour.
  3. Lower flame, add chilly powder.
  4. Add the grated coconut and fry for a minute.
  5. Add the beetroot and salt and let it cook for about two minutes.
  6. Add yogurt/ curd just before serving.
